Who are we?
The NSG Group is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of glass and glazing products for the Architectural, Automotive and Technical Glass sectors.
With around 28,000 permanent employees, the Group has principal manufacturing operations in 30 countries and sales in over 130. With just over a third of our sales in Europe, around a third are in Japan and the rest are primarily in North and South America, South East Asia and China.
In June 2006, the NSG Group acquired Pilkington, renowned for the invention of the Float Glass process, which revolutionized the world’s glass industry. The globally recognised Pilkington brand is widely used in our Architectural and Automotive businesses.
The role
The main purpose of this role is to work as part of a team in a business manufacturing warehouse, including toughening, cutting and SLE (single line edging machine) whilst complying with all Pilkington Bradford Health & Safety rules and regulations, and actively participate in improving these where possible. Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to;

Cutting/breaking out glass on automatic cutting tables.

Manual handling of glass.

Understanding of Health & Safety systems and procedures.

Carrying out of all relevant quality checks

Carrying out testing in accordance with stated testing procedures.

Completing all relevant paperwork.

Loading/unloading of annealed and toughened glass

Carrying out all necessary operator maintenance in accordance with stated procedures.

Any other duties deemed necessary to help production in the factory if requested to by a Shift Leader.
What are we looking for?

Good communication skills.

Glass manufacturing experience preferable but not essential.

Basic computer skills.

Good time keeping

Ability to work as part of a team.

Flexible to work in other areas of the business.

Flexible to change hours/shifts to accommodate production

Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

22 days holiday per annum rising to 25 with service plus declared public holidays
