Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Headboard Upholsterer to join our manufacturing team. This role involves the craftsmanship of headboards, combining traditional upholstery techniques with modern fabrication methods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical processes, enjoy working with various tools, and have experience in fabricating and assembling bespoke headboards. Duties
- Measure and cut fabric, foam, and other materials to specifications for headboard production
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and sewing equipment to assemble and upholster headboards
- Fabricate frames and structures using appropriate materials and techniques
- Perform heavy lifting when handling large or bulky components safely and efficiently
- Assemble components accurately, ensuring durability and aesthetic quality
- Conduct quality checks throughout the production process to maintain high standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Assist in the training of new team members on upholstery techniques and safety procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in upholstery, fabrication, or furniture assembly, preferably within a warehouse or manufacturing setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in using hand tools and power tools safely
- Skills in sewing and fabric manipulation for custom upholstery work
- Experience with fabrication processes related to furniture or similar products
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during material handling and assembly tasks
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for quality assurance
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks effectively
- Prior warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is important
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
