Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Baking Assistant to join our dynamic baking team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food production and baking, looking to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The Baking Assistant will support the bakery operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with baking processes, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained throughout all stages of production.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients for baking, including measuring, mixing, and organising supplies
- Support the baking process by following recipes and instructions from senior chefs or bakers
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery workspace in compliance with food safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food preparation and baking activities
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards before packaging or presentation
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages
- Support the team during busy periods to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of products
Requirements
- Previous experience in food production, food preparation, or cooking is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key
- Knowledge of baking techniques and food safety regulations is advantageous
- Experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within a culinary setting
