We’re currently seeking Production Planner to join our dedicated Operations Team and help ensure we always deliver on our promise to customers and consumers. This role is on a permanent basis and would suit anyone with a high degree of IT proficiency using Microsoft packages and knowledge of the food industry.
The Production Planner is crucial to our success converting customer demand into a robust, cost effective production plan. The role owns the production planning process across the shirt, medium and long term horizons, balancing demand, capacity, materials and labour, so that we can produce the right goods at the right time for the right customer, at the highest quality and best cost, providing the supply-side input that drives the Company's Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) process.
The Production Planner must collaborate with all colleagues in Production, Packaging, Despatch, Hygiene, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance as required, in a positive, helpful, and friendly manner, ensuring that the best use is made of Lazy Day Food's time and resources.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Food safety including - Compliance with food safety regulations
- Organisation and controlling production effectively - Including the planning of all production tasks to meet our customers orders, the monitoring, deliver and problem solving of the production plan and stock management
- Capacity Planning and S&OP - Act as the supply-side lead in the Company's Sales and Operations Planning
- Systems, Data and Analytics - Act as creator of planning systems and maintain planning models.
- Planning Horizons - Own short, medium and long term planning horizons.
We are seeking a demonstrable experience of capacity planning in a manufacturing environment, an advanced level of Microsoft skills and the ability to use data to solve problems.
A recognised planning qualification is desirable.
You'll be based on-site at our Bakery in Harthill, located between Edinburgh and Glasgow just off the M8.
Contractual hours of work are 40 per week across a working week of Monday to Friday, with flexibility on working hours
An example shift pattern would be 9 hours each day Monday to Thursday and 4 hours Friday (07:00 - 16:40 and Friday 07:00 -11:00)
