Job Summary
Powered By CAN are looking for a creative and passionate Senior Service Coordinator to join our successful play, physical activity and public health service. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and deliver high-quality extra-curricular sessions within both local community and educational settings. We are seeking an individual with a firm grasp of sector strategy, exceptional relationship management skills, and the commercial acumen necessary to support our goals for sustainable growth and high-impact delivery.
Responsibilities
- To design, develop and deliver (including supervise) a wide range of activities, that are suitable for the age, interests, and needs of children and young people to engage and be empowered through Play & Public Health.
- To coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the service (e.g. Staff, Venues, Resources, Supplies, Equipment, Data Management System, Marketing, Risk assessments) in line with service/programming requirements.
- To active co-design and consult with service users in the planning, delivery and development of activities (e.g. Collectives/Ambassadors/Advisors/Management Board)
- To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children/young people/young adults, ensuring that all staff (including volunteers and freelance staff) adhere to policies and procedures
- To ensure all appropriate health and safety/reporting measures are in place and adhere to on a daily basis that compiles to all required policies and procedures.
- To assist and prepare budgets and regular financial reports, forecasts, and presentations to Line Manager and Senior management.
- To provide a high level of customer service to deal with internal and external enquiries of the service and provide/send/share appropriate information in a timely manner
Experience
- A minimum of 2-3 years of management/coordination or team leading experience.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of coordinating/managing the delivering play, physical activity or public health services.
- Hold a relevant play, physical activity or public health qualification, or be willing to work towards one.
- A recognised qualification at level 3 above specific to the role (or willing to work towards)
- A keen and active interest in the vision and purpose of PbC and a knowledge of the culture, creative, education and youth sectors.
- Working knowledge of the Black Country and surrounding areas (including knowledge of marginalised communities).
- Understanding of the importance of Health & Safety in the workplace
- Completion of Safeguarding Awareness/Child Protection course.
- Health & Safety and First Aid certificate
- Ability to work towards targets and specific Key performance indicators.
- Ability to use data management systems.
- To respond to new challenges with agility and a proactive approach with an understanding of equal opportunities and cultural diversity issues in the delivery of our services.
- To work effectively independently and collaborate on a daily basis.
- Working knowledge of relevant software packages (Microsoft Office Suite, Google).
32 hours Per Week

£21,149.44 - £22,749.44
Pay: £21,149.44-£26,436.80 per year
