Singing Teacher – Exciting Opportunity in Halifax HX1 2TS

We are looking for an energetic, creative and efficient Singing Teacher who is able to inspire and can deliver Saturday classes (all day during term time with consistency) in Halifax. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a large-scale musical performances and small showcases.
Job Details:
Location: Halifax, HX1 2TS
Schedule: Saturdays (all day during term time)
Pay: From £25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6-12 hours per week

Driving license and access to a car desirable
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging singing and vocal development lessons for children and young performers
- Inspire confidence, creativity, and musical expression in students
- Lead and develop children's choirs, encouraging teamwork, performance skills, and vocal excellence
- Prepare students for live performances, concerts, showcases, and examinations
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual development
- Collaborate with staff to enhance the overall learning experience and performance opportunities
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and achievements
- Teach healthy vocal technique, breath control, pitch accuracy, diction, and stage presence
- Develop students' understanding of harmonies, ensemble singing, and vocal blending
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of children's voices and age-appropriate vocal development
- Support students preparing for RSL, LAMDA Musical Theatre, or equivalent examinations
- Contribute creative ideas and musical direction for memorable performances and productions
- Accompany rehearsals and lessons on piano where appropriate
Requirements:
- Experience working with children (essential)
- Strong singing and vocal coaching experience (essential)
- Piano accompaniment skills (desirable)
- Knowledge and experience of RSL and/or LAMDA Musical Theatre examinations (desirable)
- Experience leading choirs, vocal groups, or ensembles
- Excellent understanding of vocal harmonies and ensemble work
- Strong knowledge of children's vocal development and safeguarding best practice
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Performing Arts, Education, or related field (preferred) or higher
- QTS (preferred)
- Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS check required
- Ability to commute to Halifax
