Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Packing Operative to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently packing, handling materials, and ensuring the quality of products before dispatch. Duties
- Carefully pack products according to specified standards, ensuring protective measures are in place for safe transit
- Handle materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory, update stock levels, and manage order fulfilment
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including preparing items for dispatch and receiving incoming stock
- Perform stock replenishment tasks by stocking shelves and organising storage areas for optimal accessibility
- Conduct quality control checks to identify damaged or defective items and ensure only quality products are dispatched
- Operate mechanical equipment safely and competently, including forklifts and other handling machinery
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Support team members in achieving daily operational targets through effective communication and collaboration
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse management, picking & packing, or related roles is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of materials handling techniques and forklift operation (certification preferred)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for inventory control and order processing
- Understanding of shipping & receiving procedures to ensure accurate dispatching and receipt of goods
- Mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading & unloading tasks
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to maintain high standards of quality control
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling tasks effectively
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment
