Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective transportation plans to meet delivery deadlines and optimize resource utilization
- Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and clients to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring smooth communication across all parties
- Monitor real-time transportation activities using IT systems and adjust plans proactively to address delays or issues
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, schedules, and logistical data using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Lead and supervise transportation staff, providing guidance on best practices in driving safety, customer service, and operational procedures
- Analyze supply chain data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and legal requirements related to transportation operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics or transportation planning roles
- Strong driving skills with a valid driver’s license; familiarity with various vehicle types is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and communication purposes
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, logistics processes, and IT systems used in transportation planning
- Exceptional communication skills in English to liaise confidently with team members and external partners
Pay: £25,420.00-£36,000.00 per year
