Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as an Upholsterer. This role involves hands-on work in a dynamic environment, requiring practical skills in mechanical tasks, assembly, and fabrication. The successful candidate will contribute to various projects, ensuring quality and efficiency in all tasks undertaken. Prior experience and familiarity with hand and power tools are highly desirable. Duties
- Operate and maintain a variety of mechanical equipment and tools, including hand tools and power tools
- Assist with the assembly of components and products according to specifications.
- Perform heavy lifting safely to move materials or equipment around the workspace
- Support warehouse operations by organising stock, preparing materials for production, and ensuring safety standards are met
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing basic repairs or adjustments
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently during all activities to maintain a safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, upholstery setting
- Practical knowledge of mechanical systems and the use of hand tools and power tools is essential
- Experience with sewing is advantageous
- Familiarity with assembly processes and working with various materials will be beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Proven organisational skills within a busy environment are desirable
- Candidates should demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning new skills and improving their technical expertise
Pay: £14.00-£17.00 per hour
