Now Education is currently recruiting for a resilient and experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with behaviour that challenges at a specialist school in the Daventry area.
This is a full-time, term-time-only position with the opportunity to move from temporary to permanent for the right candidate.
You will be working within a supportive and structured environment, helping students who require additional guidance to manage their behaviour and engage positively with learning. The school caters to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and prides itself on its strong pastoral support, small class sizes, and dedicated staff team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with challenging behaviour
- Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies
- Support students’ emotional regulation and engagement in lessons
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Ability to adapt to different situations and respond effectively
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
