The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to provide tailored support for pupils with additional learning needs. You will play an important role in helping children access the curriculum, develop their confidence and achieve both academically and socially.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
- Delivering targeted interventions to support learning and development.
- Adapting classroom activities to meet individual needs.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interactions.
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals.
- Monitoring progress and celebrating pupils' achievements.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
