Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Lifeguard to ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils. This role involves monitoring aquatic activities, enforcing safety regulations, and providing emergency assistance when necessary. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and relevant first aid qualifications. This is a paid position suitable for individuals committed to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all pupils.
Duties
- Constantly supervise swimming area to prevent accidents and respond promptly to emergencies
- Enforce pool rules and safety regulations to ensure compliance by all visitors
- Conduct regular safety checks of the pool area, including equipment and surrounding facilities
- Administer first aid or CPR as required in emergency situations
- Maintain clear communication with team members
- Assist with organising swimming lessons
- Keep the pool area clean, organised, and hazard-free at all times
- Complete accurate incident reports when necessary and communicate incidents to management
Experience
- Previous experience as a Lifeguard or in a similar aquatic safety role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Valid first aid certification recognised by relevant authorities is required
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patrons and team members
- Knowledge of compliance management related to health and safety standards in aquatic environments
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond swiftly in emergency situations
- Valid Enhanced DBS is required
- Safeguarding qualification required
