Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Housing Officer to oversee and manage housing services within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining positive relationships with tenants, ensuring compliance with housing policies, and facilitating effective communication between residents and management. Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for tenants, addressing enquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally
- Conduct regular inspections of housing units to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Manage tenancy agreements, including renewals, terminations, and amendments
- Negotiate lease terms and resolve disputes effectively, maintaining positive relationships with tenants
- Utilise Yardi property management software to maintain accurate records of tenancy details, rent payments, and maintenance requests
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance work with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely completion
- Organise community engagement activities to foster a positive living environment
- Ensure adherence to all relevant housing legislation and organisational policies
Skills
- Proven ability in negotiation, with strong interpersonal skills to manage tenant relationships effectively
- Experience using Yardi or similar property management software is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and documentation
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise confidently with tenants, contractors, and team members
- Ability to handle sensitive situations discreetly and professionally
- Knowledge of relevant housing legislation and regulations is advantageous
