Deputy Head Housekeeper Job Description,
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Housekeeper in managing the daily housekeeping operations.
- Supervise and motivate the housekeeping team to maintain high standards.
- Conduct daily team briefings and allocate duties.
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met.
- Report maintenance issues and room defects to the maintenance team.
- Coordinate with Reception regarding room status and availability.
- Assist with recruiting, training, and developing housekeeping staff.
- Prepare daily work schedules and checklists for Room Attendants and Linen Porters.
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and maintain inventory records.
- Help plan departmental requirements and staffing needs.
- Ensure COSHH, health and safety, and company procedures are followed.
- Support the Head Housekeeper in creating a positive, productive, and guest-focused work environment.
- Handle guest requests and complaints professionally and efficiently.
Essential Skills and Requirements
- Previous experience as a Deputy Head Housekeeper, Senior Supervisor, or Head Housekeeper in a 3 or4-star hotels.
- Hands-on management style with the ability to lead by example.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to brand standards.
- Strong customer service and guest relations skills.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and support colleagues.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and staff development skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of housekeeping procedures, stock control, and health & safety regulations.
