About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Pump Division Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of our Pump Division, covering both Domestic and Commercial clients.
This is a hands-on management position requiring someone with excellent technical knowledge of pumps and pumping systems, combined with the ability to manage operations from an office environment.
The successful candidate must be equally comfortable supporting engineers with technical issues, reviewing jobs and producing quotations as they are attending sites, assessing works and liaising directly with clients.
You will be based from our West Sussex office and will work closely with the company's Senior Management Team and Directors.
Key Responsibilities
The Pump Division Manager will be responsible for:
* Managing the day-to-day operation of the Domestic and Commercial Pump Division.
* Providing technical support and guidance to field-based pump engineers.
* Acting as a point of contact for clients and maintaining strong professional relationships.
* Reviewing and evaluating engineers' job sheets, reports and site information.
* Ensuring jobs are correctly planned, managed and followed through from initial enquiry to completion.
* Preparing accurate quotations for repairs, remedial works, installations and other pump-related works.
* Producing and reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) ahead of planned works.
* Attending sites to assess works, investigate technical issues and meet with clients where required.
* Supporting engineers with fault finding and more complex technical problems.
* Ensuring engineers have the correct information, equipment and documentation before attending site.
* Monitoring the quality of completed works and ensuring company standards are maintained.
* Identifying additional or remedial works from engineers' reports and progressing these into quotations.
* Helping to manage workloads, schedules and operational priorities across the division.
* Working closely with other departments to ensure effective communication and smooth delivery of works.
* Escalating operational, technical or client concerns to Senior Management where appropriate.
* Working under the direction of the Senior Management Team and Company Directors to continually improve the performance, profitability and service standards of the division.
About You
We are looking for someone who has strong, proven experience within the pump industry. This is essential for the position.
You should have:
* Excellent technical knowledge of pumps, pumping systems and associated equipment.
* Experience working with both Domestic and commercial pump systems.
* Practical field experience and the ability to confidently advise and support engineers.
* Previous supervisory, management or senior engineering experience.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
* Experience preparing quotations and assessing the scope and cost of works.
* An understanding of RAMS and safe systems of work.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Confidence dealing directly with clients, engineers and senior management.
* Good IT and administrative skills.
* A professional and proactive approach to customer service.
* A full UK driving licence.

Pump industry experience and strong technical pump knowledge are essential for this role.
Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
