Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Temporary Breakfast Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. The position is temporary, with immediate start available, and is suitable for individuals passionate about food preparation and service.
Hours of work - 7am - 4pm for 3/4 days a week.
Duties
- Prepare and cook items according to specified recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared fresh, presented attractively, and served promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Assist with meal preparation for other meal times as required
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify management of shortages
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service delivery
- Assist with serving food to guests when necessary
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience in meal preparation, particularly breakfast dishes, is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities during service hours
- Relevant culinary qualifications or training are advantageous but not essential
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
