North Star Day Nursery, part of Grandir UK, is looking for caring and enthusiastic Level 2 and Level 3 Early Years Practitioners to join our brand-new, purpose-built setting in Welwyn.

About the Role
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, explore and develop at their own pace.
You will work closely with your room team to plan engaging experiences based on children’s individual interests and needs. You will also build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s development, routines and achievements.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Providing high-quality care and education for babies and young children
- Creating a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment
- Planning and delivering engaging activities based on children’s interests, needs and stages of development
- Supporting children’s learning through indoor and outdoor experiences
- Following the EYFS and Grandir UK’s educational programmes
- Acting as a key person for a group of children
- Completing observations, assessments and development records
- Supporting children’s personal care, routines and emotional wellbeing
- Building friendly and professional relationships with parents and carers
- Keeping families informed about their child’s experiences, development and achievements
- Supporting children’s transitions between rooms and into school
- Working closely with colleagues to maintain a positive and supportive team environment
- Following safeguarding, health and safety and regulatory requirements
- Ensuring the room, resources and outdoor space are safe, inviting and well organised
What We’re Looking For
- A full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification
- Previous experience working with babies or young children is desirable
- Knowledge of the EYFS and child development
- A good understanding of safeguarding requirements
- A warm, caring and patient approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A willingness to learn and develop your early years career
- A genuine passion for helping children learn, develop and thrive
- The enthusiasm to help establish and grow a successful brand-new nursery
Location and Travel
North Star Day Nursery is located at 82 Great North Road, Oaklands, Welwyn, Hertfordshire, AL6 0TA.
Its location on Great North Road provides convenient access for those travelling from Welwyn, Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage and the surrounding Hertfordshire areas. The nursery is also well positioned for access to the A1(M).
