Senior Quantity Surveyor - Birmingham

The role of Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Preparing, negotiating, and analysing costs for budgets
- Ensuring sub-contractors are pre-qualified in accordance with management systems
- Procurement of sub-contractors and preparation of sub-contractor order documentation
- Assessing and certifying sub-contractor interim payments and ensuring Payer/Pay-less notices are issued
- Advising on legal and contractual issues and managing commercial risks
- Production and presentation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation on projects
- Managing the commercial team and mentoring Quantity Surveyors
- Ensuring effective interaction between commercial and operational site teams
The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Degree qualified
- 3–5 years' construction experience, ideally from a main contractor or Tier 1 background
- Good knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC Forms of Contract
- Sound commercial awareness
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- High levels of organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent numerical, IT, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel to site as and when required
