About Us
The Isaac Wilson is a busy, high-volume pub in the heart of Middlesbrough. Open daily from 9am serving breakfast through to late-night drinks, we pride ourselves on delivering great value, quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere for everyone — from breakfast regulars and quiz teams to live music lovers and matchday crowds.
We’re now looking for a confident, hands-on Shift Manager to help lead our team and maintain high operational standards during busy service periods.
The Role
As Shift Manager, you’ll take responsibility for running shifts smoothly and efficiently. You’ll lead from the front, motivate the team, and ensure our customers receive fast, friendly and professional service at all times.
This is a practical, floor-based management role in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising the team during shifts including front and back of house.
- Ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained
- Managing opening and closing procedures
- Handling cashing up and till reconciliation
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and compliance
- Supporting with staff training and development
- Dealing confidently and professionally with customer queries
- Ensuring licensing laws and health & safety procedures are followed
- Supporting the management team with stock control and ordering
What We’re Looking For
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a pub, bar or hospitality venue
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Calm under pressure during busy periods
- Excellent organisational skills
- A proactive and hands-on approach
- Knowledge of licensing law and food safety standards
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and key event days
