Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Senior Care Assistant to join our compassionate care team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality support to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Your leadership skills and experience in senior care will help foster a warm, respectful environment where residents feel valued and cared for. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while working within a supportive team committed to excellence. This is for a weekend role and to cover annual leave. There will be at least one 12 hour shift available each week.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, ensuring their dignity and independence are maintained.
- Develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs and preferences.
- Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including progress notes and incident reports, using IT systems efficiently.
- Promote effective communication with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure everyone is informed and involved in care decisions.
- Support residents during mealtimes, encouraging nutritional intake and assisting as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding protocols, and company policies at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience working in a care home environment with a focus on senior care.
- Demonstrated supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care setting.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and using electronic care management systems.
- Valid driving license preferred for supporting residents’ transportation needs or community outings.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, health & safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
