About Us:
Hillside Paws for Life is dedicated to providing top-quality dog training and care to ensure that every dog finds success in their new home. We are currently looking for a balanced dog trainer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with at least one year of dog training experience and a passion for canine behaviour.
Role & Responsibilities:
As a Balanced Dog Trainer, your role will include:
· Training and Development:
o Oversee the training and development of dogs from puppyhood to the completion of our program, ensuring they meet both our high training standards and client requirements.
o Teach and reinforce essential high level obedience skills such as recall, sit, stay, down, focused heel work, switch, middle and place command.
o Use a variety of training techniques tailored to each dog’s temperament and learning style to ensure success.
Dog Care & Well-Being:
o Monitor the health and well-being of the dogs in your care, including feeding, bathing, and administering medications as needed.
o Keep accurate records of each dog’s training progress, health status, and medication requirements.
· Client Interaction:
o Communicate regularly with clients about their dogs' progress, training goals, and any concerns. Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting or exceeding their expectations.
Requirements:
· Experience: Minimum of 1years of experience in dog training, with a solid understanding of canine behaviour and obedience techniques.
· Training Skills: In-depth knowledge of dog training techniques, including recall, sit, stay, heel work, down, focus, and middle.
· Health & Medication Knowledge: Experience administering medication to dogs and understanding canine health and welfare.
· Passion: A genuine love for working with dogs and helping them succeed in new homes.
· License & Availability: Valid driving license and availability to work full-time on, and any additional days which need covering 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
