We are looking for an experienced, trustworthy and proactive Finance & Accounts Administrator to take ownership of our day-to-day finance administration to support the continued growth of our business.
This is a varied and rewarding role suited to someone who enjoys working independently, has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records while supporting the wider business.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day financial administration, ensuring accurate record keeping.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger
- Process supplier invoices accurately onto QuickBooks.
- Check supplier pricing and reconcile supplier statements prior to payment.
- Allocate supplier costs to the correct job references.
- Ensure supplier payments are accurate and made on time.
Sales Ledger
- Set up new customer accounts in QuickBooks.
- Raise customer invoices promptly and accurately.
- Reconcile customer payments and issue receipts.
- Monitor outstanding invoices, follow-up where required.
Job Costing & Financial Reporting
- Update weekly labour journals and allocate labour costs to individual projects.
- Update project estimates with accurate costings.
- Maintain accurate job costing information to support project profitability.
- Assist the Directors with financial reporting and cash flow information.
Operations Administration
- Update our operations software with customer payments.
- Register completed installations with FENSA.
- Send customer feedback emails following project completion.
- Maintain accurate customer and project records.
About You
You will be an experienced finance professional who enjoys working within a small, friendly business where you can make a genuine difference.
Essential
- Proven experience in a finance, bookkeeping or accounts role.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (or similar accounting software).
- Experience managing purchase and sales ledger.
- Experience processing payroll.
- Experience preparing VAT returns.
- Excellent reconciliation, organisational and administrative skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Professional, trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential financial information.
Desirable
- Experience with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
- Experience within the construction, glazing, windows and doors or home improvement sector.
- Knowledge of job costing.
- Experience with FENSA registrations.
