About the Role
As our Bank Cook, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious meals that meet the individual dietary, cultural and medical needs of our residents. You will work closely with the Home Manager and care team to ensure every mealtime is an enjoyable experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and serving high-quality, home-cooked meals and snacks.
- Catering for special diets, allergies, texture-modified meals and nutritional requirements.
- Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and infection prevention.
- Completing daily food safety records, temperature checks and cleaning schedules.
- Managing stock, rotating food correctly and minimising waste.
- Working within kitchen budgets and placing orders when required.
- Ensuring compliance with Food Hygiene Regulations and HACCP principles.
- Supporting a positive dining experience for residents.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef (care home experience desirable but not essential).
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum).
- Good understanding of nutrition and specialist dietary requirements.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, flexible and able to cover shifts at short notice.
- A caring, positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service.
