The Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Architectural Metal Welder / Fabricator to join our skilled workshop team in Wetherby.
The successful candidate will have a background in architectural metalwork and be capable of producing high-quality fabricated steelwork to exacting standards. You will work on a variety of bespoke projects including feature staircases, balustrades, balconies, handrails, secondary steelwork and bespoke architectural metalwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld architectural metalwork from engineering drawings.
- Manufacture bespoke staircases, balustrades, balconies, handrails and feature steelwork.
- MIG and TIG welding of mild steel, stainless steel and other architectural metals.
- Read and interpret technical and fabrication drawings accurately.
- Assemble, fit and finish metalwork to a high standard.
- Operate workshop machinery, hand tools and fabrication equipment safely.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in architectural metalwork fabrication and welding.
- Proficient in MIG welding.
- Ability to read and work from detailed fabrication drawings.
- Experience fabricating staircases, balustrades, balconies and bespoke metalwork.
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of workshop health and safety practices.
Desirable Skills
- TIG welding experience.
- Site installation experience.
- Experience working to architectural specifications and high-end finishes.
