Job Purpose
To oversee the day-to-day management of construction and refurbishment projects while carrying out or supervising joinery works where required. The Site Manager / Joiner is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Management
- Manage daily site operations from start to completion.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
- Prepare and maintain project programmes and work schedules.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
- Monitor project progress and resolve site issues promptly.
- Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks.
- Maintain accurate site records.
- Liaise with clients and surveyors.
- Organise material deliveries and site logistics.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Joinery Duties
- Carry out first and second fix joinery where required.
- Install doors, windows, kitchens, flooring, staircases, skirting, architraves, and bespoke timber work.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Ensure all joinery work meets company quality standards.
- Assist with snagging and final project handovers.
Health & Safety
- Enforce Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks.
- Complete risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Ensure correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
- Report accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Quality Control
- Inspect workmanship throughout each stage of the project.
- Ensure defects are identified and rectified promptly.
- Maintain high standards of finish and customer satisfaction.
Communication
- Act as the main point of contact on site.
- Attend project meetings.
- Provide regular progress updates to management and clients.
- Build positive relationships with customers and subcontractors.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of building regulations and construction methods.
- Proven experience managing construction or refurbishment sites.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- CSCS Gold or Black Card
- First Aid at Work

Pay: £170.00-£210.00 per day
