Content & Social Media Manager for The Blackened Teeth Ltd
Role type: Full-time, permanent, hybrid (working across home, our Aberaman workshop and on-location shoots).
The Blackened Teeth is an independent gothic homeware brand designing and making distinctive decor from our workshop in South Wales.
We’re looking for an experienced Content & Social Media Manager to take ownership of our social content and produce the photography and video that supports our wider marketing.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who can generate strong ideas, shoot them, edit them and understand what performs and why.
The Role:
You’ll plan and create content across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook and YouTube, while also producing photography and video for our website, email marketing and paid advertising.
You’ll work from monthly & quarterly objectives, product priorities and the product launch roadmap set by the Creative Director, then develop/execute the content ideas and monthly plan needed to bring them to life across each launch and campaign.
Content ranges from product launches and styled interiors to workshop process, behind-the-scenes footage, lifestyle content and short-form social video.
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing original content ideas and monthly content plans
- Shooting and editing product, lifestyle, interiors and short-form video
- Managing our organic social channels (combined total of over 750k followers)
- Planning/executing shoots around launches, campaigns and the wider marketing calendar - working closely with Marketing objectives.
- Producing photography and video for social, email, website and paid advertising
- Scheduling content and writing social copy in our brand voice
- Managing comments, DMs and our Brand Ambassador programme
- Reviewing analytics and adapting content based on performance
- Working with our graphic design team and external paid media agency
- Planning location shoots
What we’re looking for:
The most important part of this role is the ability to generate and execute content ideas that drive performance, move the brand forward and support continued growth.
This is a highly self-motivated role. The Creative Director will set the quarterly objectives, product priorities and key launch goals. From there, you’ll be expected to turn that direction into your own creative briefs, content plans and shoot plans - developing the ideas, taking feedback, executing them and making day-to-day creative decisions independently.
You will need to analyse the performance of your own content, understand what is and isn’t working, and use those insights to shape what you create next and feedback on that data.
The Key Skills/Requirements for the role:
- 3+ years’ experience managing social media for a brand with platforms of a similar size
- A strong photography and video portfolio
- A solid understanding of social analytics, content performance and staying up to date on platform changes
- Proven experience contributing to the growth of a brands social media presence
- Experience shooting and lighting styled interiors or sets (not just studio product photography)
- Strong editing skills across video and stills
- Strong written copy skills
- A strong eye for detail is essential
- The ability to plan, stay highly organised and work independently
- Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop & Lightroom, or equivalent
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for shoots and events
An interest in gothic or alternative culture is a bonus, but not essential.
Additional Information:
- Hybrid working across home, our Aberaman workshop and shoot locations
- Camera, lighting and editing equipment provided
- Travel expenses covered for location shoots
- Some shoots will take place in residential interiors and other locations across the UK
