To aid in the running of the kitchen to ensure quality and speedy service. To ensure quality food is prepared and sent out of the kitchen.
Main duties can vary and include, but are not limited to:
-Preparing food and dishes according to the Chef Owners instructions
-Processing deliveries, storing and labeling appropriately and monitoring rotation of stock
-To assist the chefs in preparing food during service
-To help the chef maintain the desired GP by minimising waste
-Aid with the cleaning down of the kitchen at the end of services and ensuring hygiene standards are maintained
-To lead the kitchen in the absence of the head chef
-To ensure the agreed GP is met in the absence of the head chef
-To have the ability to be creative with ingredients and deliver specials
Experience of a kitchen environment is essential. You must have passion, flair and the ability to lead and be led throughout a busy service. A hard working and willing personality is key.
This is a fast paced environment where you will need to get stuck in, so will suit individuals who are hands on, good communicators, and work well as part of a team.
You will be part of a close knit kitchen environment and working not only together, but also with the Front of House staff, is crucial to ensuring a smooth service. You must be able to take instructions as well as use your initiative to complete the tasks at hand,as well as being able to work within the larger team around you.
