Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting kitchen units efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. Previous experience in commercial driving, particularly with 3.5 tonne vehicles, is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety and professionalism. Please note some warehouse work will be required when there are insufficient orders going out for delivery.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate 3.5 tonne van and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to clients and customers
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring all cargo is secured properly during transit to avoid damages.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations during deliveries
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during interactions with clients
- Assist with organising delivery schedules and communicate any delays or issues effectively
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with 3.5 tonne vehicles or in commercial driving roles
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating 3.5 tonne vehicles
- Strong knowledge of road networks and navigation skills within the local area
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading, unloading, and securing cargo
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise deliveries effectively
- Good communication skills to liaise with clients and team members professionally
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and service standards
Pay: £13.00 per hour
