Job Title: Profile and Press Setter
Shift Pattern: Permanent Weekends - Saturday - Sunday - 06:00 - 18:00
Hourly Rate: Up to £16.21
Role Purpose
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Profile and Press Setter to join our manufacturing team on a permanent weekend shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and adjusting profiling machines and presses to produce components that meet quality, safety, and production standards.This role is ideal for an experienced setter who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of machine performance during weekend operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set, operate, and adjust profiling machines and press equipment to specification
- Carry out tooling changes and machine setups efficiently to minimise downtime
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, job cards, and specifications
- Ensure components are produced to the required quality and dimensional standards
- Perform first-off checks and ongoing quality monitoring during production runs
- Identify and resolve basic machine faults, escalating issues where necessary
- Carry out routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance
- Work safely at all times, following health and safety procedures and risk assessments
- Accurately complete production and quality documentation
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within the work area
- Liaise with supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams as required
Skills and Experience Essential:
- Proven experience as a Profile Setter, Press Setter, or similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of press and profiling machinery
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and quality
- Able to work independently and take responsibility during weekend shifts
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
