About the role
WildeDogs is a growing dog walking, pet sitting and positive reinforcement training business based in Streatham, covering the surrounding South London areas. We are looking for a kind, reliable and enthusiastic dog lover to join us in an employed, part time position.
This is more than a dog walking job. Alongside walking and pet care, you will have the opportunity to assist with our training sessions, gaining hands on experience supporting dogs and their owners in real life environments using kind, reward based methods.
The role starts at two days per week, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. As our client base grows, this is expected to move to three days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with genuine potential to progress towards full-time hours from there.
You will provide exceptional care, exercise, enrichment, and companionship for dogs of all breeds, ages, and personalities, ensuring every dog feels safe, happy, and well looked after. You will also be responsible for safely transporting dogs to and from their homes and updating owners after each walk.
Responsibilities
- Safely collect and transport dogs using your own vehicle
- Conduct solo and small group walks, prioritising each dog’s safety and wellbeing
- Monitor behaviour and recognise signs of stress, discomfort or illness
- Use kind, reward based handling at all times
- Provide enrichment and make sure every walk is enjoyable and appropriate for the individual dog
- Clean up after dogs and keep all equipment clean and organised
- Take photos and short videos during walks, with owner permission, for client updates and social media
- Communicate professionally with clients and the business owner about each dog’s wellbeing, behaviour and any concerns
- Return dogs home safely, settled and happy after every walk
- Assist with training sessions when required
- Occasionally provide overnight pet sitting in existing clients’ homes
About you
- Passionate about dogs and committed to providing exceptional care
- Kind, patient and confident handling dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments
- Reliable, trustworthy, punctual and highly organised
- Interested in positive reinforcement training and dog behaviour
- Happy working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Looking to build long term relationships with clients and their dogs
- Comfortable working independently while also being part of a small, supportive team
- Eager to learn and develop your knowledge of dog behaviour, welfare and training
Essential requirements
- Aged 18 or over
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record
- Your own reliable vehicle, with business use added to your insurance policy
- Confident and experienced driver
- Comfortable walking several miles a day in all weathers
- Able to commit to regular Wednesdays and Thursdays, with flexibility to add a third day as the business grows
- Willing to complete occasional overnight pet sits
Desirable experience
Experience in dog walking, pet sitting, animal care, veterinary practice, rescue, grooming, daycare or positive reinforcement training is desirable but not essential.

What we offer
- An employed position, not self-employed, so no invoicing or tax admin to handle yourself
- £13.00 per hour starting wage
- Paid holiday of 11.2 days per year, pro rata on two days per week
- Mileage paid at the HMRC-approved rate of 55p per mile for the first 10,000 miles
- Basic DBS check arranged and paid for by us
- All dog transport equipment provided, including crates and seatbelts
