We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Pilates tutor to join the college at the heart of our community in Southend.
It is an exciting time to join Southend City Community College (formally Southend Adult Community College).
We are a growing college with an exciting future supporting the City of Southend, Rochford and Castle Point.
We are recruiting for a Pilates tutor to take part in our community learning and night school provision teaching small groups of adults with mixed experience and abilities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated tutor to:
Plan and deliver safe, inclusive, and engaging Pilates classes that promote physical health, wellbeing, flexibility, strength, posture, and confidence.
Provide high-quality instruction to learners of varying abilities, ensuring exercises are adapted to meet individual needs and that participants are supported to achieve their personal fitness and wellbeing goals.
Adapt teaching methods to support individual learning needs, including learners with SEND and those new to Pilates.
Classes will run Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings , and there will be some opportunities for you to carry out Saturday morning workshops should you wish to.
Evening class schedule can be discussed at interview and arranged to work around your current commitments.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, patient and has a professional attitude. If you do not have a teaching qualification but you are eager to start a teaching career path, we can also provide the Level 3 teaching qualification.
You will need to be hold a recognised Pilates instructor qualification and have experience delivering Pilates classes to adults. You will require knowledge of anatomy, physiology and safe exercise practice and have the ability to adapt exercises for different abilities and physical needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching Pilates
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Requirements within a Pilates environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain awareness of safe exercise practices and ensure participants use correct techniques to minimise the risk of injury.
