Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bar Staff member to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons. This role offers an opportunity to work in a lively environment, showcasing your skills in serving and bar management while ensuring guests enjoy their experience. Previous restaurant or bar experience is essential, along with a strong understanding of food safety and responsible service of alcohol. The successful applicant will be organised, personable, and able to work efficiently under pressure.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including beers, spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic options in accordance with company standards.
- Take orders from customers accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Check identification to verify legal age for alcohol consumption and ensure responsible serving practices are followed.
- Restock bar supplies as needed, including glassware, garnishes, and beverages.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Engage with customers to create a friendly atmosphere whilst managing multiple orders during busy periods.
- Assist in setting up events or special functions when required.
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests.
Skills
- Proven experience working in hospitality or as bar staff within a restaurant or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service.
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly and professional demeanour.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage positively with customers and team members.
- Knowledge of current licensing laws related to alcohol service is desirable but not essential.

Pay: £14.00-£14.50 per hour
