Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and delivering exceptional customer service. The position involves operating flatbed vehicles and requires a valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving. Candidates with previous delivery driver experience and familiarity with flatbed vehicles are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to clients across designated routes
- Load and unload items, ensuring they are secured properly during transit
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon receipt of goods
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations at all times during deliveries
- Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, professional, and punctual during all interactions
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained throughout the day
Qualifications
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving, with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles or similar equipment
- Strong knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic regulations in the area
- Ability to operate flatbed trucks safely and efficiently
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Good communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
