Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hard-working Warehouse Operative to join our busy operations team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering high standards of accuracy and customer service. The successful candidate will represent the company in a polite, efficient, and professional manner while maintaining strong communication with colleagues and management. Flexibility, teamwork, and a hands-on approach are essential.
Duties
- Ensure all work areas are cleared and prepared prior to picking stock
- Pick and pack stock accurately from designated locations for customer orders
- Complete all documentation correctly on allocated pick lists
- Report and escalate any invoice discrepancies for investigation
- Create and apply status labels using the production tracking system
- Carry out second-check procedures where required and document accordingly
- Match pick lists to customer invoices to ensure order accuracy
- Select and apply the correct customer and address labels following company procedures
- Record spoils, destructions, and discrepancies within the relevant logs
- Monitor label quantities and expiry dates to ensure sufficient stock availability
- Safely destroy expired labels in line with company procedures
- Prioritise orders using the “In Despatch” report to meet agreed lead times
- Pack products securely using appropriate packaging materials to prevent transit damage
- Raise consignment labels and ensure all required paperwork is enclosed correctly
- Follow packaging procedures for controlled drugs and cold chain products in line with Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment
- Support other departments and areas as required
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support collaborative problem-solving
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently within a busy, fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Computer literate with good numerical skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work Desirable Skills
- Good IT systems knowledge
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Previous warehouse, logistics, or picking and packing experience
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy environment
- Physically fit, capable of standing for extended periods and walking long distances within the warehouse premises
Pay: £26,195.00 per year
