Due to expanding workloads, Wade Construction are currently recruiting for a skilled UK based Contracts Manager / Project Manager to be responsible for the successful delivery of projects. You will be working on a variety of projects mainly across the midlands, with values ranging from £1k to £1m. Projects include new build and extensions, refurbishment, maintenance, enabling works, groundworks and drainage within the housing and commercial sectors. You will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the construction industry, gained over your minimum 10 years experience in a similar role.
The responsibilities include:
- Plan, schedule, procure and deliver multiple projects across the UK, effectively, often to tight schedules
- Ensure safe working practices and high standards of H&S on site.
- Co-ordinate and manage the client relationship and ensure open and effective communication.
- Motivate and manage site teams and subcontractors.
- Develop, monitor and manage programmes of work.
- Ensure high levels of customer service.
- Ensure projects are completed within agreed timescales.
- Assist commercial staff to manage cashflow, site costs and final accounts and ensure compliance and quality standards are kept.
- Administration duties in accordance with the role.
- Attending site, client and management meetings.
- Carrying out regular inspections to ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements, processes and procedures.
- Raising safety concerns at the appropriate level.
- Resolving problems and implementing improvements.
- Organising and overseeing external inspections.
- Maintain the highest quality records and reports of site activities.
- Assist with trade recruitment and management.
- Liaise with tenants, buildings occupiers and clients to schedule works and arrange appropriate access requirements.

Requirements:
- Currently UK based.
- Minimum 10 years UK construction experience in a similar role.
- Stable employment history.
- Minimum SMSTS.
- First aid qualified (prefered but not essential).
- CSCS (prefered)
- Asbestos awareness trained (prefered but not essential) .
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Excellent IT skills and experience in Microsoft Office / 365, including word, excel, outlook, powerpoint, teams, etc.
- Understanding of CDM regulations and site H&S.
- Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels.
- Self motivated and looking to progress in your career.
- Able to work under pressure to maintain deadlines.
- Personally presentable at all times.
- Reliable and trustworthy.
- Commercially and contractually aware.
