Our nursery is located in a purpose-built building opened in 2018, which has recently been renovated and redecorated to offer a bright, modern and engaging learning environment. We are also fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful parks, gardens and local attractions, all of which are regularly incorporated into our curriculum to enrich children's learning and encourage exploration beyond the classroom.
As our nursery continues to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Pre-School Room Leader who is excited to develop their career and grow alongside our expanding nursery.
Role Overview
The Pre-School Room Leader will lead the day-to-day running of the pre-school room, creating an engaging, stimulating and supportive environment that prepares children for their transition to school. You will lead by example, support and mentor your team, and work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the pre-school room.
- Plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting children as they prepare for school.
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where every child can achieve their full potential.
- Lead, motivate and support practitioners within the room to deliver outstanding practice.
- Monitor children's learning and development through observations, assessments and planning.
- Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on children's progress.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
- Maintain high standards of organisation, cleanliness and presentation within the room.
- Work collaboratively with the management team to continuously improve the quality of care and education across the nursery.
Person SpecificationEssential
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Education and Childcare.
- Previous experience working within a pre-school or early years setting.
- Experience leading a room or supporting the development of other practitioners.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development and school readiness.
