The Sylvagen group of companies is an established industry leader operating in the waste, recycling, and biomass sectors, where due to business growth we are looking to add a hardworking individual to join us at our new operation at Olus Biomass in Hassocks.
About you
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join our team. This role involves managing the flow of vehicles and freight at the weighbridge station, ensuring accurate data entry, and coordinating traffic to maintain smooth operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives working in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic with the ability to adapt in a hybrid role, working in an office operating the weighbridge and being able to assist with jobs within a busy yard. Training can be given to the right minded individual, you must be willing to be flexible and help where required, assisting with all aspects of administration and yard duties. We are looking for an individual who is reliable, a good communicator and has a good understanding of IT.
Responsibilities
- Accurately record vehicle weights and ensure proper documentation of inbound vehicles
- Manage incoming and outgoing vehicle traffic
- Providing drivers with induction paperwork and keeping relative records
- Assisting with general yard duties & maintenance of machinery
- Managing and reporting stock records, daily onsite maintenance checks, quality reports
- Assisting with the ordering of parts and labour
- Help manage and enforce onsite Health & Safety
- General admin
The Package:
Working hours: 8.00am to 6.00pm (some flexibility required)
Working Days: Monday to Friday & every other Saturday (morning shift of 5 hours) (47.5 hours) with potential of overtime available
Holidays: 28 days (Inclusive of Bank Holidays)
Experience
- Experience in an administrative role
- Ability to operate a computer
- Some basic Health & Safety training
- Knowledge of HGV Vehicles
- Ability to operate heavy plant machinery
- Experience working within a waste yard or similar

- Driving License (Required)
