Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Calibration Technician to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. Responsibilities
- Assist in the calibration of various measurement and testing instruments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards
- Support senior technicians in maintaining calibration records, schedules, and documentation using schematics and technical drawings
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on calibration equipment and related machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Participate in testing procedures, recording measurements, and verifying instrument accuracy against reference standards
- Collaborate with team members to identify calibration discrepancies and assist in corrective actions
- Provide excellent customer service by supporting internal teams with technical inquiries and equipment support
Experience
- Basic understanding of technical principles gained through education or previous work experience
- Hands-on experience with maintenance tasks or calibration activities is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level candidates
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating a proactive approach to learning and teamwork
- Customer service orientation with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues and internal clients
Although this is a fixed-term maternity cover position term (minimum 3 months, maximum 9 months), there may be the opportunity for a permanent role in the future, subject to business needs and individual performance.
