Baby Room Leader – Parkway Day Nursery @ Coulby Newham
Full‑Time | Permanent | 42.5 Hours Per Week Monday–Friday | Shifts Between 7:30am–6:00pm Start Date: ASAP
Parkway Day Nursery is seeking a warm, experienced and highly motivated Baby Room Leader to join our early years team. This is a key leadership role supporting babies aged 6 weeks–1.5 years, ensuring exceptional care, secure attachments, and high‑quality EYFS practice.
Role Overview
As Baby Room Leader, you will oversee the daily running of the baby room, lead a small team, and create a nurturing, responsive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and supported in their earliest development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily practice — Manage routines, planning, and room organisation
- Deliver EYFS provision — Provide developmentally appropriate activities and interactions
- Support secure attachments — Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families
- Guide and mentor staff — Model outstanding practice and support team development
- Maintain safeguarding standards — Ensure full compliance with policies and procedures
- Communicate with parents — Provide daily feedback and support transitions
- Complete observations — Track progress and contribute to learning journals
- Ensure health & safety — Maintain a clean, safe, well‑organised environment
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
- Experience working with babies aged 6 weeks–2 years
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS
- Confident in leading and supporting staff
- Warm, nurturing, professional approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

- 42.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Shift pattern between 7:30am and 6:00pm
- All‑year‑round position

- Salary £29,917 per annum
