About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and friendly Locum Dispensing Optician to provide cover within our independent practices during September.
You will be working alongside our existing team, providing high-quality dispensing and excellent patient care in a relaxed, professional independent practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional spectacle dispensing and advice to patients.
- Recommend appropriate frames and lens options based on prescription, lifestyle and individual requirements.
- Take accurate dispensing measurements.
- Carry out spectacle collections, adjustments, repairs and troubleshooting.
- Support patients with frame selection and styling.
- Explain lens options and enhancements clearly and confidently.
- Ensure accurate patient records and dispensing information are maintained.
- Work closely with the optometrist and wider practice team.
- Provide excellent patient care throughout the patient journey.
- Assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the practice where required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- A qualified Dispensing Optician and GOC registered.
- Confident working independently within a busy optical practice.
- Experienced in dispensing a range of prescriptions and lens designs.
- Comfortable advising on premium lens and frame options without a hard-sales approach.
- Friendly, approachable and patient-focused.
- Reliable and able to integrate easily into an established team.
- Experienced within an independent practice environment would be advantageous.

Locum rate: To be agreed depending on experience.
