Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI Project Manager to lead and oversee artificial intelligence projects within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, ensuring project delivery aligns with strategic objectives, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires a strong background in project management methodologies, software development processes, and AI technologies, with excellent organisational and leadership skills to drive innovation and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of AI projects, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and budget.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and translate them into actionable project plans.
- Utilise project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, TFS, and SharePoint to track progress and manage resources effectively.
- Oversee the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, development, testing (including user acceptance testing), deployment, and maintenance phases.
- Manage release schedules and coordinate deployment activities in collaboration with development teams.
- Implement Agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum to optimise workflow efficiency.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop disaster recovery strategies to ensure project resilience.
- Facilitate communication across teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure clarity of objectives and expectations.
- Monitor project performance metrics using organisational skills and analysis tools; prepare comprehensive reports for senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to project management processes and AI solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in project management within software development or AI-related fields; certification in SAFe or similar frameworks is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Waterfall methodologies alongside Agile practices like Kanban.
- Proficiency with project management software including Microsoft Project, Visio, TFS, Jira, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of SDLC processes, test-driven development, user acceptance testing (UAT), test cases creation, and release management.
- Technical expertise in SQL databases (Oracle), cloud computing platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure or similar services like Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and programme management principles.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills; ability to interpret complex data sets using analysis tools.
- Experience in requirements gathering, analysis skills optimisation, leadership in cross-functional teams, and programme management experience are essential.
