Part-Time Bookkeeper / Finance Assistant
Location: Waterlooville, Hampshire
Hours: Part-time – approximately 8–16 hours per week
Salary: £14–£17 per hour, depending on experience

About the Company
Isle FM is a growing and well-established Facilities Management company based in Hampshire, providing a range of facilities maintenance and property support services to commercial clients.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper / Finance Assistant to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day financial administration of the business.
This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys working independently, is highly organised and takes pride in keeping accurate and up-to-date financial records.
The Role
Working closely with the management team, you will provide day-to-day bookkeeping and finance support across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining the purchase and sales ledgers
- Recording and reconciling bank transactions
- Carrying out regular bank reconciliations
- Monitoring outstanding customer balances and assisting with credit control
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assisting with VAT returns
- Supporting month-end processes and management reporting
- Liaising with suppliers, customers and the internal team regarding finance queries
- Maintaining organised digital and paper filing systems
- Assisting with payroll administration where required
- Providing general finance and administrative support to the management team
- Supporting ad-hoc finance projects as the business continues to grow
About You
We are looking for someone who is accurate, trustworthy and commercially aware, with previous experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance role.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts or finance administration
- Good understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations
- Experience using accounting software such including Xero & Sage
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A proactive approach and willingness to identify and resolve issues
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with customers and suppliers
- An understanding of VAT and general UK bookkeeping procedures
An AAT qualification or relevant bookkeeping qualification would be advantageous but is not essential if you have good practical experience.
