Community Connector
Location: Reading, Berkshire (Hybrid)
Salary: £25,541 to £27,200 per annum, pro rata
Hours: 28 per week
Contract: Fixed term contract (until 23rd June 2027)
Additional Requirement: Applicants must have a full licence (2 years) and access to a vehicle.

As a Community Connector, you’ll work directly with individuals to help them build confidence, access local services, and re-engage with the world around them. You’ll be part of a compassionate team that works closely with volunteers and partner organisations to create lasting social connections. What will a day in the life of a Community Connector involve?
- Meeting with individuals to understand their needs and offer tailored support.
- Linking people with local services, activities, and community groups.
- Following up with individuals to review progress, identify any barriers, and ensure they are accessing the support they need.
- Working alongside volunteers to provide encouragement and practical help.
- Building relationships with partner agencies to develop sustainable community networks.
- Maintaining accurate records, completing case notes, and contributing to service monitoring and reporting.
To be a successful Community Connector, what will you need?
- Excellent communication skills and a warm, empathetic approach.
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the local area and how communities operate.
- Experience supporting people in a person-centred manner to achieve positive outcomes.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and maintain accurate records.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems to record information and monitor progress.
- The ability to handle challenging conversations with professionalism, empathy, and resilience.
- A genuine passion for helping people overcome loneliness and build connections.
