Fin & Grape are looking for a Front of house/Restaurant Manager
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well established, independent business with a small, enthusiastic team of staff.
In this role you will be expected to manage the daily operations of the restaurant and report to the owner/head chef.
Fin & Grape has a strong focus on Scottish fish. The overall food concept is based around sharing with a selection of small plates supporting larger cuts of fish cooked for the table to share. Our other main focus is on wine and we have an extensive list of wines from around the world served by the glass & by the bottle.
Duties in this position will include managing and running service on a daily basis, managing the booking, till and payment systems, organising staff rotas, staff training, ordering and stock control. This position will also require a good base knowledge of food and cooking techniques as well as wine and wine service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in wine who would like to develop their knowledge and experience further.
In this role you will have significant responsibility for wine ordering, tasting, training and also be expected to have strong input on the content of the wine list and the suppliers we use.
Qualifications such as a level 2 or 3 WSET would be useful but not essential and if these are not held, we would be willing to help put the correct candidate through these qualifications. We attend regular trade tastings to try to discover new wines and producers so this will also be available to any person we take on for the position.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic person who would like to work with and serve food and wine to a high standard in a growing business and with a friendly, professional team. This role would be well suited to either an experienced manager/ assistant manager or to a strong supervisor looking to take the next step in their career.
The position will be a full time contract which includes:
2 weeks off over Christmas & New Year, equal share of tips, staff food, staff drinks, on site development & training.
Average required hours of work per week will be 35-40hours, usually over 4 days, with 3 days off. The weekly schedule can be flexible though, so we are happy to discuss the number of days and hours worked with the correct candidate.
Wage for this position will be between £14-£16 per hour depending on experience with tronc/tips of approximately £5-6000 per year included in addition to this. We are also happy to discuss a salary package if this is preferred.
