Private Housekeeper – 12 Hours Per Week

The Well Kept Home is looking for a reliable, experienced Housekeeper to support a busy family home in Worthing.
This is a lovely ongoing position for someone who enjoys more than just cleaning and takes pride in keeping a household organised, running smoothly and well cared for.
The role
The position is 12 hours per week, spread across 3 weekdays. The family are flexible on which days and times are worked, as long as it is Mon-Fri.
Our regular housekeeping hours are between 8am and 6pm.
Duties will include:
- Full household cleaning
- General tidying and keeping the home organised
- Laundry and putting clothes away
- Ironing
- Changing beds and towels
- Washing up and dishwasher management
- Emptying bins
- Household restocking
- Helping keep drawers, cupboards and rooms organised
- Working through regular household organisation tasks as time allows
- Interior window cleaning at accessible standing level
- Descaling the kettle
- Washing machine care
- Dishwasher filter cleaning and maintaining rinse aid and salt
- Cleaning under and on top of sofa cushions and other harder-to-reach areas
The household has a planned rotation of additional tasks, meaning the role is varied and there is always something useful to work through rather than simply repeating the same clean every visit.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous housekeeping or domestic cleaning experience
- Takes pride in their work and notices the little things
- Is organised, reliable and trustworthy
- Is comfortable working independently in a private family home
- Is confident with laundry, ironing and general household management
- Is comfortable preparing basic food as directed
- Is confident and responsible around children
- Has a good eye for organisation and keeping a home running smoothly
- Has a warm but professional approach
- Is looking for a consistent, ongoing household rather than occasional cleaning work
Hours & Pay
12 hours per week
£17 per hour
The role is offered through The Well Kept Home on a self-employed contractor basis.
