Job Overview
Are you a retired or semi-retired STEM professional, technician, or teacher? Do you miss the hands-on aspect of science and engineering but not the paperwork? We are looking for mentors to help run our local after-school STEM clubs in Bristol.
The Role: We introduce children (KS1 & KS2) to the wonders of STEM. One week we are building bridges; the next we are programming robots. We need calm, experienced hands to guide them, answer their questions, and stop them from gluing their fingers together!
Why join us?
- All Fun, No Paperwork: We handle the admin, the recruitment, and the lesson plans. You simply arrive and facilitate the activity.
- Flexible Commitment: Just one or two afternoons a week (approx. 2 hours per session).
- Make a Difference: Inspire local children who may never have met a real engineer or scientist before.
- Paid Position: We offer a competitive rate of £50 per session.
Who we are looking for: We value patience and life experience over recent qualifications. If you are handy, curious, and enjoy interacting with young people, we’d love to chat. Please note, you must have access to a car for this position.
