Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a pro active approach to completing daily tasks and be able to work within a busy environment. This role involves picking customer orders, unloading vehicles and putting away stock, loading deliveries and general housekeeping of the yard and stock ensuring that it is well-kept, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. This role will require manual lifting as well as counterbalance/telescopic Forklift experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain yard stock and rotation of products.
- Picking of customer orders.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform various duties with branding certain products and general maintenance of the yard.
- Load and Unload vehicles using forklift and/or manual lifting following H&S guidelines.
- Assist in customer service for collections from depot.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Builders Merchants or Drainage Supplies is preferred but not essential.
- Forklift License and/or Experience is essential
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail with a passion for Customer Service
- Good physical stamina as the role requires lifting and physical work.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and maintaining high standards of work quality.
Hours - Mon-Fri
8.00am-5pm
