About this Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientated individual to join the growing team as an SMT Production Set-Up Operative. You will be primarily responsible for the preparation of SMT kits for the SMT machines, this mainly includes; set up and control of SMT kits, de-kitting returns, countback and effective communication across different departments within the business.
Whilst electronic component knowledge would be an advantage, we are happy to consider applicants who are new to the electronics industry with experience in a similar manufacturing environment. The person will need to be eager in learning new skills and knowledge with a high standard of attention to detail, who can add value to our growing Electronics business.
The successful person will demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills, with a keen eye for detail and quality control. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to progress within a growing organisation, as we are looking to develop the successful candidate into a Leadership role within the team.
Key accountabilities include but are not limited to;
Ensure all kits are checked for correct revision, material accuracy and suitability for SMT, prior to production.
Ensure bare PCB baking and labelling processes are completed with an accordance of working procedures.
Ensure all de-kitting and X-Ray count back is done before returning to Stores.
Control all shortages directly with the Stores team.
Follow documented procedures.
Ensure all work is carried out and completed to specified levels of workmanship, within suitable timeframes.
Report any problems with kitting or process to the SMT Production Set-up Supervisor or Stores Manager.
Support the Supervisor in the training of team members, ensuring best practice standards are maintained.
Adhere to Health & Safety requirements, regulations and follow documented procedures.
Adhere to Company IT and Data Policy.
Carry out any other reasonable request which is for the benefit of the business within the scope of the stores team.
Be able to travel between two production sides CIL house and BP2 to support job relates activities.
Be able to communicate and resolve job related issues with other departments in a strong professional manner.

Key Skills and Competencies:
Previous kitting experience or working in a similar production or stores role
Excellent attention to detail, organisation and prioritising of tasks
Computer Literate: Competent in Microsoft Excel Packages such as Excel, Outlook, Word, etc
Excellent written and spoken English
Ideally, previous experience handling fine hand tools and microscopes
Previous experience of working within the electronics industry is preferred
The ability to lead and mentor a small team would be advantageous
Ideally Educated to GCSE or equivalent, with good mathematic skills
A form of electronics qualification would be desirable
