Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks under supervision, supporting chefs in basic cooking and ingredient handling.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently to ensure availability for ongoing food service.
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to keep the kitchen organized and fully equipped.
- Support the disposal of waste and recycling materials following proper procedures.
- Help with basic food prep tasks such as peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients when required.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations gained through restaurant or hotel experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards and safety protocols in food service environments.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and support staff.
- Basic culinary skills including serving or assisting with meal presentation are advantageous.
