Overview
Join our team as a Volunteer Steward and play an important role in creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable matchday experience for all visitors and participants. As one of the first points of contact for supporters and guests, you will help ensure everyone feels welcomed, informed, and supported throughout the event.
Working alongside fellow volunteers and the Match Night Coordinator, you will contribute to the smooth running of events while helping to maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all attendees.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome visitors, supporters, and guests, providing directions and information when required.
- Assist with managing entry points and checking tickets where applicable.
- Help direct the flow of spectators and visitors around the venue safely and efficiently.
- Support the Match Night Coordinator with operational tasks as required.
- Monitor the venue for any safety concerns and report incidents, hazards, or issues promptly.
- Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff to ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
- Provide a positive and professional presence throughout the event.
Skills & Attributes
- Friendly, approachable, and confident when interacting with members of the public.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- An understanding of customer service and hospitality principles.
- Awareness of basic health and safety practices is desirable, although training will be provided.
